Thomas C. O'Dell has 40 years of petroleum industry experience , concentrated at the senior executive level. He retired as President of CONOCO OVERSEAS OIL COMPANY and simultaneously as the Corporate Vice President of CONOCO Inc. and as the Chairman of DU PONT SERVICES, B.V., the oil major's international exploration project financing affiliate.
For many years an integral part of CONOCO's executive management team, Mr. O'Dell's direct responsibilities extended throughout international operations, including worldwide business development, new venture development and implementation, commercial operations, exploration/production strategy, portfolio management and acquisition and disposition of producing properties. The Advance Exploration, Joint Operations, Domestic Land, Mineral Lease Records, Exploration Strategy, International Negotiations, Reserve Acquisition and Asset Management groups were among the departments that directly reported to him.
Mr. O'Dell was a member of the executive leadership team that restructured CONOCO's worldwide operations well before the company's merger into ConocoPhillips.
In 1994 Mr. O'Dell formed CARLTON ENERGY GROUP LLC and the CARLTON ENERGY GROUP OF ASSOCIATED COMPANIES to pursue energy sector projects and related investment opportunities worldwide.
Initiatives of these companies, in which he serves as Chief Executive Officer, include the purchase and operation of substantial upstream assets whereby offers on behalf of its investor groups have exceeded $ 20 Billion. Other initiatives include the formation and operation of joint venture exploration and development projects in the U.S., Bulgaria, Romania, Kazakhstan, China and the Republic of Chad.
Other projects and ventures of the CARLTON ENERGY GROUP under Mr. O'Dell's leadership include the acquisition and development of oil and gas exploration and production opportunities in West Africa, Latin America and the Middle East as well as in the United States.

Mr. O'Dell is the Principal and Managing Director of CARLTON VENTURE PARTNERS LLC, a merchant banking enterprise specializing in high-tech and energy-related investments.
Mr. O'Dell is also the Principal and the Managing Director of TEXAS STANDARD PETROLEUM LLC which specializes in the acquisition of refinery and storage assets in the United States and Europe.
Mr. O'Dell serves as the Chairman of JL INTERCONTINENTAL TRADING COMPANY LLC whose primary activity is in the purchase and sale or trading of crude oil and refined petroleum products as well as various other commodities.
Mr. O'Dell holds a Bachelors (Finance) degree from texas Christian Univeersity, an LLB and Doctor of Jurisprudence (concentration in oil and gas, property and contract law) from Bates College of Law at University of Houston and a Masters in Industrial Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/MIT, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
Mr. O'Dell is a graduate of The International Executive Program jointly sponsored by the Columbia Graduate School of Business and ESSEC in Paris, France.
Mr. O'Dell has also been instrumental in the creation and implementation of the ASSOCIATION OF INTERNATIONAL PETROLEUM NEGOTIATORS and is a founding member.
